Assistant Conservator Conservation Center Los Angeles County Museum of Art The Conservation Center at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art is seeking applications for two assistant conservators in objects/paintings conservation to assist the Conservation Center with the conservation and restoration of an 18th century period room from a Damascus residence. The positions are full time for 6 months with the possibility of a 6 month extension. The room is currently dismantled and measures approximately 15 x 20 feet. It has an inlaid marble floor; painted and carved wood walls, doors and storage niches; a stone arch that serves to divide the upper and lower sections of the room, which are separated by a single high step; and an intricately inlaid stone wall fountain with a carved and painted limestone hood. Both positions are available immediately and will remain open until filled. Eligibility: Candidates will be considered who have graduated from a recognized conservation training program, with the appropriate specialization, or who have similar training or experience.
