is recruiting for a Conservation Intern for 7 July 2014 - 31 March
2015; Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.

Rate of pay: $20.00/hour

The main objective of the Conservation Intern is to work on the
newly acquired Lismer Estate Collection / Archive.  This will
involve the sorting, condition assessment, documentation/photography
and object appropriate housing for long term storage of various
objects (mostly paper based) numbering over 2300.

The successful candidate will be a post graduate of a recognized
Conservation or Museum / Collections Studies Program with a
specialization in Paper Objects and a minimum of 2 years related
work experience.  Art handling experience is a must and knowledge of
Canadian art (in particular the Group of Seven) an asset.  A high
level of computer, organizational and writing skills is also
required.

All Lismer Estate Collection Project activities will take place at
the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg, Ontario in the
Collections Department and under the supervision of the McMichael
conservator, Alison Douglas.

Familiarity with MS Word, Office and Excel are required.  Experience
with Photoshop or other image software an asset.  This 8 month
internship will be open to all qualified applicants.
