Workshop Saving Energy in HVAC for Conservation Environments San Francisco May 27, 2014 Please accept this invitation to participate in our Saving HVAC Energy workshop at the end of May 2014 just before the AIC meeting. The main workshop topics are: 1. How and why HVAC systems use energy, and sustainability concerns; 2. Savings to expect from alternate "relaxed" T/RH criteria; 3. Other ways to reduce energy use Without compromising conservation environment criteria; 4. Compare savings from (2) and (3) 5. Overall approach to saving energy in an existing building 6. Easy measures to reduce energy use at little to no capital cost 7. Typical energy saving measures that should Not be used in a conservation environment 8. Understanding LEED This is the same workshop I have given in the past 12 months at Rutgers for PPG, Michigan State, the MFA Boston, the Smithsonian SAAM for WCG, and Yale. It is based on the AIC workshop I gave in 2010 at AIC in Philadelphia, but much expanded with many energy estimates. The workshop will include a comparison of the energy savings and sustainability benefits from relaxed T/RH criteria for San Francisco, LA, DC, NYC and Boston. The San Francisco workshop will be hosted by the Oakland Museum of California, just a short BART ride from the AIC Hyatt Embarcadero. The workshop runs from 9:30am to 4:30pm.
