Understanding Egyptian Collections: Innovative display and research projects in museums Ashmolean Museum, University of Oxford 1-2 September 2014 Bookings now open <URL:http://goo.gl/ShLzE9> We are pleased to announce that bookings are now open for this conference on the care and display of Egyptian collections that will be hosted at the Ashmolean Museum in September 2014. The first day of this two day conference will focus on the major works undertaken at the Ashmolean Museum for the redisplay of their Egyptian collections in new galleries which opened to the public in November 2011. As well as talks there will be technical tours of the galleries and an opportunity to see the Ashmolean's temporary exhibition Discovering Tutankhamun <URL:http://www.ashmolean.org/exhibitions/discovertut> The second day will feature talks from speakers from all over the work around the themes of conserving, displaying, understanding and interpreting Egyptian collections.
