Call for expression of interest
Organizing  conference on conservation of sculpture parks

The Conservation-Restoration Department of the Arts Academy,
University of Split (Croatia), is calling for expressions of
interest from institutions interested in co-organizing an
international conference on the conservation of sculpture parks to
be held in Sisak, Croatia, in October or November 2015.  The
conference is envisaged as a platform for the sharing of information
on management, display and maintenance of outdoor sculpture
collections, as well as on the conservation efforts related to
sculpture parks.

The City of Sisak has been chosen as the location for the conference
because of its unique sculpture park, which consists of thirty-eight
public sculptures created between 1971 and 1990 by prominent
ex-Yugoslav sculptors who participated in the Art Colony
"Z1/2eljezara Sisak"([Sisak Steel Mill).  All of the sculptures are
made of steel, and many are painted.  Due to the many years of
neglect, they are now in need of conservation.  Conservation of the
three most vulnerable sculptures has been entrusted to the
Conservation-Restoration Department of the Arts Academy in Split.

Institutions interested in co-organizing the conference should

concerning the human or/and financial resources the institution
would be able to contribute to the conference.
