This workshop will reinforce the Advanced Pest Training held last year in Glasgow. Focus: Insect species that are threatening our collections in Scotland Species which may come to us sooner than we think! Practical pest identification session Discussion on how to take forward sharing pest knowledge in Scotland Know which are the main groups and species of pest insects which are found in museums, historic houses and archives Identify the main beetle and moth pests and their larvae. Identify new pest species and recognise the potential risk Understand the need for recording and analysing data as part of an IPM programme: An introduction to an emerging recording data base: What Is Eating Your Collection (WEYC) Have awareness of some control options available in Scotland What delegates should bring: Difficult Pest samples to identify, relevant experiences or observations.
