Subject: Reducing light levels
A colleague is seeking help with reducing light levels for a photographic exhibit. The exhibit will be up for three months this summer. The light levels is the exhibition space are very high due to 8 meter high windows. The artist, who is still alive, wants the view of the Rhine below to be unobstructed as it relates to her work. The building is listed so nothing can be mounted to the outside of the building that would change it in any way. The works are large format so placing individual curtains over them is impractical. The windows already have UV filtering film, so the concern is the overall light level, not the UV level which has been addressed. We are seeking advice on possible solutions to lower the overall light level in the exhibition space that are quick, reversible and cost effective. *** Conservation DistList Instance 27:41 Distributed: Friday, April 25, 2014 Message Id: cdl-27-41-014 ***Received on Sunday, 20 April, 2014
