Subject: Survey on preservation statistics--addendum
The FY2013 Preservation Statistics Survey is open with an extended the deadline of April 30, 2014: <URL:http://www.ala.org/alcts/resources/preservation/presstats> If you participated in the pilot survey last year, please respond again this year. Your annual commitment to respond with your institution's preservation data allows us to conduct important analysis of library preservation programs over time and to quantify trends in our field. The results of last year's pilot survey, The FY2012 Preservation Statistics Report, has been used by preservation and conservation administrators to plan, evaluate, and advocate for their programs as well as by preservation educators to revise their curriculum and respond to emerging preservation practices. If you are a first time participant, please let us help with any questions you may have. The survey is open to any library in the United States and is entirely online; a helpful Instructions and Definitions document will guide you through the survey and a worksheet is available to help you track and calculate your institution's data (see link above for additional details). If you summarize your preservation program's achievements in an annual report or grant narrative, you quite likely already have most of the data requested by this survey. The Preservation Statistics Survey is a project of the Preservation and Reformatting Section (PARS) of the Association of Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS).
