A Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in Chemistry/Conservation
Science is available at the Department of Chemistry, University of
Oslo (UiO).

The position is tied to the project "After the Black Death: Painting
and Polychrome Sculpture in Norway, 1350-1550", which is based in
Conservation Studies in the Department of Archaeology, Conservation
and History, UiO.  The position and the project are funded by The
Research Council of Norway between 2014 and 2017.

The Post-Doc will focus on materials characterization (e.g., paint)
using spectroscopic and surface analytical techniques, primarily
Raman but also Scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive
X-ray and Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.  The researcher
will furthermore oversee non-invasive investigations of objects
using instruments owned by Conservation Studies.
