Subject: Wine label
I have a wine label: Chateau Cheval Blanc de 1947, which is in very bad state of conservation (acid, with green spots, difficulty reading the information of the label). I have been searching the information about the techniques of printing and especially ink which was used at that time but I could not find any information. Has anyone already done the treatment of this type of object. Is it necessary to deacidify (but it could be interesting to know more about printing and inks before this)? What gold colour is usually used?
