Heritage Without Borders (HWB) is a registered charity (no.
1148568). HWB works in places where skills and resources are scarce
to: build capacity in heritage skills; and support heritage projects
in situations of poverty, following conflict and disaster. HWB is a
volunteer organisation. Heritage students and professionals give
their time for free in exchange for valuable work experience and the
opportunity to exchange knowledge with international colleagues.

In April 2014, a team of HWB volunteers will be working in
Gjirokastra, Albania to train project participants from the Balkans
region in the basic principles of textile conservation. We will be
working with collections in the Ethnographic Museum and are hoping
to make some improvements to storage and display while the project
is running.

We have a very limited budget for supplies and so this is a call for
donations. If you have any small amounts of materials-offcuts for
example--from the list below, please contact Rebecca Schult at
rebeccaschult<-a t->btinternet< . >com

We need: smoke sponge, blotting paper, cotton tie tape, calico,
polyester film, polyester wadding, conservation threads such as
Skala and Stabiltex, cotton/polyester thread, Correx, cotton
domette, polyester felt, cotton jersey, stockinette silk jersey,
down-proof cotton, nylon tulle and net--undyed and dyed, any dyed
scraps of cotton or silk--undyed or dyed, glass-headed pins, curved

tweezers, spatulas, magnifiers, tool rolls, cotton and vinyl gloves,
dust/respiratory masks, goggles, Tyvek, humidity indicator cards,

We would be very grateful for any of the above that you can spare.
