Subject: NEDCC and Nishio Conservation Studio partnership
The Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) is pleased to announce that a memorandum of understanding has been signed by NEDCC and the Nishio Conservation Studio in Washington D.C., defining a business agreement to partner in a common pursuit to conserve Asian artwork in the U.S., including Japanese, Chinese, and Korean artifacts such as scrolls, screens, and wood block prints. "It is our hope to create a center for learning in the United States for this unique specialty. Conservation services will be available at both NEDCC in Andover, MA, and the Nishio Conservation Studio in Washington, DC," said Michael Lee, NEDCC Director of Paper and Photograph Conservation. Bill Veillette, NEDCC Executive Director, comments: "We're excited by the opportunity to partner with Yoshi Nishio and his talented staff. Through our collaboration, we hope to not only expand this highly-specialized service, but to train and develop more conservators of Asian artwork."
