Paper Conservator Bodleian Libraries University of Oxford Osney One Building Osney Mead, and Weston Library Broad Street, Oxford Full Time (37.5 hours per week) One year fixed term contract, with possibility of extension Grade 6: UKP26,527 - UKP31,644 p.a. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Paper Conservator to join the Conservation and Collection Care Department at the Bodleian Libraries. The C&CC Department, comprising twenty-six staff organised into seven teams, safeguards the Bodleian Libraries collections through conservation treatments, preventive measures and training, as well as supporting public programmes involving access and display of collections. You will undertake conservation treatments on works on paper and related materials as well as participate in collection care activities. You will have a recognized qualification in paper conservation or related materials, or equivalent training and experience. Significant knowledge and experience of high-level conservation treatments on paper and basic knowledge of book structures are required. Ability to gather, analyse and present information clearly and accurately for the purpose of recording, planning and reporting conservation treatments as well as a flexible approach to work and excellent inter-personal skills are also essential. Due to the nature of this post, candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check as well as a financial background check.
