Position at Historic Royal Palaces

From: Jo Wilson <jo.wilson<-a>
Date: Tuesday, February 11, 2014
Records and Archives Officer
Conservation and Collection Care, Collections Management
Hampton Court Palace

This is a unique opportunity to use your records management
expertise and organisational skills to help support the preservation
of some of the greatest palaces ever built. Joining our Collections
Management team within Conservation and Collection Care, you'll
support the work of our registrar, conservators and scientists by
developing systems to organise and maintain our records and
reference materials. Handling a huge range of written and
photographic records of our highly-specialised conservation
projects, you'll ensure that our collections management system,
records and archive assets--both digital and non-digital--are
up-to-date and accessible. You'll also deliver a quality service to
anyone needing to access this information.

To meet a challenge like this, you'll need an information management
qualification with experience in establishing systems, ideally
gained in a collections-focussed environment such as a museum or
library. Knowledge of archive management and cataloguing are
essential too, as well as that of digital media preservation and
access. What's more, you should have great time-management skills,
a customer-focused approach, good attention to detail and a genuine
interest in our conservation work.

Although based at Hampton Court Palace, there will be an occasional
requirement to work at other palaces.

Closing date: 27 February 2014
Pay Range: UKP26,291
