Subject: Conference on LED lighting
"Museum lighting and LED" is the theme of DTU Fotonik's annual LED conference held in Copenhagen 19 March 2014. The topic is chosen based on the increasing interest amongst museums facing challenges such as; conservation and preservation of valuable art pieces that are damaged by exposure to light and the desire to have a tailored lighting solution for the respective artifacts, and acquire a greener profile while reducing operational costs. The agenda of the conference will include an optional field trip in Copenhagen, workshops, and an introduction to speakers that are internationally renowned researchers and experts. The conference will cover basic knowledge of lighting, the advantages of LED light sources, hands-on experience with the implementation of LEDs in museums, financial and operational aspects, as well as the trends and options of lighting in the future. As the conference addresses all of the Nordic countries, all presentations are in English.
