Fixed term contract/Full time (37 h/w)

Minimum salary (for recent graduate) UKP 2855 per months (Euro3545)

The conservation unit based at Ohavsmuseet, Museum, Denmark seeks a
paper conservator for a 3 months fixed term contract.  The unit
services 6 regional museums with mixed collections and employs 3
full time conservators specialising in, social history, and
archaeological conservation.  The unit employs additional staff on
fixed term projects.

The contract is foremost to undertake the conservation of artists'
sketches, sketch book and archival material as well as to undertake
condition assessments of paper based objects.

A recognised qualification in paper/book conservation or equivalent
such as training in a conservation studio and practical experience
is required.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed
individual, who can work independently and to deadlines.  It is also
essential that the candidate is interested in working with a range
of different museum professionals and must therefore possess strong
interpersonal and organisational skills in addition to good oral and
written communication skills.

Responsibilities include examination, photographic and written
documentation and remedial conservation.  Taking part in general
conservation activities such as environmental monitoring, climate
and pest control, collection surveys and developing and running
workshops for other museum professionals if required.

Knowledge of Danish is not required, but English oral and written is
essential.
