Subject: Equipment available
**** Moderator's comments: Please respond directly to the author. The Department of Conservation and Scientific Research at the British Museum is about to move into brand new studios and labs within the World Conservation and Exhibitions Centre <URL:http://www.britishmuseum.org/about_us/the_museums_story/new_centre.aspx> In preparing for the move, a number of items of equipment or old instruments have been identified which are either no longer required or are surplus to requirement. Unfortunately, because of the demands of the move, it has not been possible to check whether everything is still in working order and we cannot therefore guarantee its safety and users should make the necessary checks prior to use. A first list of redundant equipment is now available and can be viewed at <URL:https://www.dropbox.com/l/atXofWkQAxKGMHB2SA7XIc> Further lists of equipment will be available shortly and the lists will be regularly updated if new items become available. In addition, a number of items of equipment which are known not to be functioning but which may be useful for spare parts have also been included in the list. All of the items on the list are being offered on a first come, first served basis to anyone who is interested. No charge for items will be made but donations to the Department of Conservation and Scientific Research are welcomed. Anyone wishing to take items must arrange for the collection and transportation of these items.
