Academic post in the conservation of decorative architectural and
    archaeological surfaces

Applications are invited for a Resident Academic full-time post in
the Conservation of Decorative Architectural and Archaeological
Surfaces in the Department of the Built Heritage within the Faculty
for the Built Environment of the University of Malta.  The
appointment will be for a period of one year with the possibility of
renewal.

The appointee will be required to participate in the teaching,
research and other activities of the Department of the Built
Heritage within the Faculty for the Built Environment, and as may be
required by the University.

Candidates must be in possession of a Ph.D. or equivalent research
based doctorate.  The required area of specialisation is in the
conservation of decorative architectural and archaeological
surfaces, with emphasis on wall painting conservation.  Due
preference will be given to candidates who show sound, deep and
broad knowledge of decorative architectural surfaces and their
conservation, as well as competence, leadership and team-working
abilities.  The selected candidate will also have good
organizational and management skills.  Previous hands-on experience
in the above-mentioned field will be favourably assessed.  A track
record in research including international publications, as well as
academic experience at tertiary level, in the above field will be
favourably considered.
