Subject: Course on identifying modern photograph processes
The Fotorestauratie Atelier VOF in Amsterdam is offering the following workshop: "Identification of Modern Photograph Processes" 19-21 March 2014 Cost: 495,00 euro The 3-day course covers the most common modern photograph processes and finishing techniques in theory and practice. Participants will learn about the material aspects of each process as well as the visual differences among processes to be able to distinguish between them. Silver Gelatine prints, early color screen processes, chromogenic and silver dye bleach photography, inkjet prints and other modern processes will be covered in theory and during practical sessions participants will have a chance to examine various different photographs under magnification and with various lighting. Clara von Waldthausen, the lecturer of the course has gained experience in the identification and preservation of photographs through many years working in private practice and as guest lecturer in Photograph Conservation at the University of Melbourne and the University of Amsterdam.
