Filling and Retouching: Paintings and Painted Surfaces
Maastricht

The Stichting Restauratie Atelier Limburg (SRAL) will hold a
symposium entitled "Filling and Retouching: Paintings and Painted
Surfaces" on  23 May 2011 at the Bonnefanten Museum, Maastricht. The
symposium will highlight materials and techniques used for filling
and retouching lacunae in finishing layers. Lectures will cover all
relevant disciplines and specialisations to which paint layers are
applied, such as architectural decorations, furniture and design,
metal, paper, and modern materials.

The call for papers and posters is now open. Those wishing to submit
an abstract for either a paper or poster should do so before 1 March
2011 to k.seymour<-at->sral<.>nl

Abstracts should be no longer than 500 words and written in good
English. Submissions will be selected on merit by 30th March 2011.
Postprints will be made available in e-format.
