Internship Possibilities Buffalo Bill Historical Center Summer 2011 The Buffalo Bill Historical Center Conservation Lab is offering internships during the summer of 2011. We are accepting program interns in paper and objects and pre-program interns. Internship length is flexible. As of this date, the internships are not funded. There are usually opportunities for employment with the museum's food and beverage, museum shop, and security departments. There are also employment opportunities in the town of Cody. There is a dorm where interns may rent space in the summer and there is also housing in the town of Cody. There is a vast collection of works of art on paper, archival material, and ephemera. Interns are invited to participate in all conservation activities during their stay and welcome to join in all museum programs and functions. The following is a short list of possible projects for internships. Maintenance and treatment of outdoor bronzes Cleaning and rehousing of engineering drawings (advanced paper student) Special storage housing and treatments for complex, ephemeral mixed media works by contemporary artists Preservation of moving image materials (advanced student) Cleaning and housing glass plate negatives Conservation treatments of Plains Indian Materials Maintenance and treatment of firearms Complex paper treatments (advanced student) Beverly N.
