The Preservation Directorate of the Library of Congress announces the 55th presentation in the Topics in Preservation Series (TOPS): "Celebrating Fifty Years of Cultural Heritage Conservation Training at New York University" Pickford Theater, Madison Building, 3rd floor Library of Congress 101 Independence Avenue SE Washington DC 20540 Wednesday, November 17, 2010 10:30-11:30 a.m. In celebration of 50 years of excellence, leadership and tradition at the Conservation Center, Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, this special TOPS event will showcase how the Center prepares graduates who contribute to the work of the Preservation Directorate at the Library of Congress. Speakers will include scientists from the Preservation Research and Testing Division, an advanced intern in Conservation, and the Director for Preservation. Founded in 1960, the Conservation Center of the Institute of Fine Arts is dedicated to the study of the technology and conservation of works of art and historic artifacts. The oldest degree-granting conservation program in North America, the Conservation Center has a particularly rich history.
