Conservation Manager - Paper and Paintings/Frames Tate Job Title: Closing date: 26 November 2010 Location: Millbank, London Salary: up to UKP36,000 per annum Contract Type: Permanent About us: At the heart of Tate is the Collection, comprising some 67,000 works of British art from the 16th century to the present day, international modern and contemporary art. Our Conservation department is responsible for providing specialist conservation services across all four Tate galleries. About the role: You'll coordinate the operational planning and management within the Conservation department, focusing on Paper and Paintings/Frames. This will involve direct line management of staff, while overseeing the studio and project teams to ensure safety and efficiency. By working closely with the Planning Manager and Heads of Conservation, you will assess and allocate resources for projects, looking at the current and future needs of the Collection. A key objective is also supporting the care and use of the Collection. About you: With a museum or gallery background, and a professional qualification (or equivalent) in Conservation with experience within your specialism. You will be an experienced manager, working to further develop a culture of teamwork and common purpose, especially when managing change. With excellent verbal and written communication skills, you are a natural planner and influential project manager, numerate and focused. You also have experience of budget management as well as proven IT skills.
