Subject: Storing furs and untanned skins
I would appreciate receiving references to the most current thinking on the proper storage standards for this category of objects. The question arises in one of our museum facility projects for a dedicated storage space that will house both natural history specimens and ethnographic objects. My research has found general agreement on RH settings a range with 30% RH and 50% RH as the limits. References to temperature are more varied. This is a project in which we have the opportunity to achieve whatever is judged best practice.
