We seek two enthusiastic, self-motivated conservators to carry out
examination, treatments, and to participate in the care, display and
storage of objects. You will work in liaison with a range of museum
staff and conservators and your major project will be assessment and
treatment of objects for the HLF funded M Shed - Museum of Bristol
project

You will have a recognised conservation qualification or equivalent,
and ideally extensive work experience. Excellent organisation,
communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as are
flexibility and pragmatism. Experience of working in a museum
setting, and demonstration of progression towards professional
accreditation, will be advantageous. Experience of industrial/social
history objects would be an advantage for the History conservator
post. Experience of archaeological/applied art/ethnographic objects
would be an advantage for the World cultures post. As collections
officer you will be part of the Museums, Galleries and Archives'
lively, mixed disciplinary conservation team, which values
colleagues with a co-operative and positive outlook.
