"Incompatible Partners? Challenges of Composite Objects"

The ICON Textile Group invites abstracts for papers and posters for
the 2011 to be held in London on 4 April 2011

Contributions should explore the conservation of mixed material
objects and may include, but are not limited to, innovative or
challenging conservation projects of textiles with other materials
such as wood, plastics, metals, feathers, precious stones, glass and
leather as well as the challenges faced in storing and displaying
them.

Papers highlighting ethical issues such as prioritising the
different materials, collaborative research, working with other
specialists and the sequencing of the treatment of the different
materials are also encouraged.

Please email abstracts of no more than 250 words to  Alison
Fairhurst <alison<-at->landico<.>co<.>uk> by Friday 26 November 2010,
ensuring that the names, addresses and emails of all authors are
included, and indicate who the main contact and speaker(s) will be.
