Andrew Smart has spent the last 20 or so years of his working life
in the field of Fine Art Photography and in 2003 became the Director
of A.C.Cooper. A.C.Cooper is a company that has specialised in this
field since 1918 and has worked for many prestigious clients such as
The Royal Collection, The Courtauld Institute, The Whitt library and
also Christie's, Sotheby's and Phillip's auctioneers. The brand that
A.C.Cooper offers is most popular with many major galleries,
artists, academics and independent collectors and their work and
reputation has taken them all over the world on a number of
assignments.

Andy has been involved in the photography of many important works of
art for the purposes of academic research, Advertising, Insurance,
Point of Sale and website production. In 1994 he spent a year
working in the conservation workshop at the Wallace Collection where
he helped with the photography of artworks as well as gaining some
hands on experience working in a conservation studio and museum
environment. Andy is still on hand and regularly gives advice to the
Wallace Collection and their in house photography department on
photographic issues as they arise.

Since 2003, digital photography has become the preferred choice of
tool for many of our clients although Andy is trained in the use of
all film formats and still gets asked to shoot them from time to
time! He is also a competent Black and White printer and darkroom
technician.
