The conservation graduate program for the preservation and
conservation of works of art on paper, archives and library
materials (Studiengang Konservierung und Restaurierung von Grafik-,
Archiv- und Bibliotheksgut) at the Academy of Art and Design
Stuttgart (Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Kunste Stuttgart)
<URL:http://www.abk-stuttgart.de> is seeking to fill a fellowship
position for an applicant with a graduate degree (diploma or MA) in
a conservation-related area (either conservation with a focus on
science, or a science with a conservation focus). The fellowship
will last 12 months. The project concerns the development of a
suitable storage system for a prominent collection in a major German
museum. The focus of the work will lie on the determination of
pollutants in protective enclosures and the evaluation of
appropriate sorption systems for the improved protection of artworks
in long-term storage. The project will be conducted in close
cooperation with the collaborating museum and the respective
industries. The project location is at the paper conservation study
program at Fellbach at the Academy of Art and Design Stuttgart. The
successful applicant is expected to contribute to the support of the
study program.

Application requirements: Diploma or MA in a conservation-related
area (either conservation with a focus on science, or a science with
a conservation focus), experience in the area of preventive
conservation, excellent German and good English language skills,
knowledge of digital image processing and ability as well as
interest in collaborative team work.
