Freezing is undoubtedly the best and easiest method.  It is
important to note, however, that it won't prevent another
infestation.  In fact, there are no currently recommended methods
that do, because leaving a poisonous chemical on the surface of
objects is something we are all trying to avoid. This is
particularly important if the bird is handled.  Also, the moths
didn't come from nowhere, so do some careful inspection of other
things that moths like, which means proteins (feathers, wool, etc.).
