Conservation/Collections Assistant Fowler Museum Req. #14664 Under the direction of the Director of Conservation and the Collections Manager at the Fowler Museum at UCLA, the Conservation/Collections Assistant assists with general conservation activities for permanent collections and special exhibitions, and the organization and maintenance of storage a 150,000 piece ethnographic collection of artifacts and textiles. Prepare treatment proposals and execute some conservation treatments by structural stabilization, cleaning, and/or visual integration. Assists with various preventive conservation practices such as environmental monitoring and the creation of object storage mounts. Assist in facilitating object movement in the museum as well as receipt and management, unloading/loading of incoming/outgoing exhibitions and loans.
