Professor, Archaeological and Historical Heritage Hochschule fur Technik und Wirtschaft, Berlin (HTW) The University of Applied Sciences Berlin, Germany is seeking to fill a temporary position to substitute the professor for Archaeological and Historical Heritage. The position is on a full-time basis, limited to 4 years from Oct 1, 2010 - Sep 30, 2014. We are looking for a person with a university degree in objects conservation, preferably with a specialization in archaeological and/or historical heritage. The successful candidate will give lectures on archaeological conservation, introduction to conservation, preventive conservation, cultural history and archaeology for Bachelor and Master Students. The responsibilities of the successful candidate will be the management of the archaeological / historical objects conservation group within the conservation program, the management and the further development of the conservation laboratories, the management of existing research projects and the development of new research projects and collaborations. We are looking for a person with high organization skills, national and international networking skills and good team working ability. The successful candidate should have a PhD and at least 5 years of work experience in conservation. If they do not do so already, successful applicants are expected to take up residence in the City State of Berlin. Foreign applicants should possess sufficient knowledge of the German language. The salary is according to "Besoldungsgruppe W2", with a teaching committment of 18 hours per week.
