Conservation Scientist (2 positions)
The Institute of History and Philology, Academia Sinica

The IHP <URL:http://www.ihp.sinica.edu.tw/> seeks to hire 2
conservation scientists with expertise in the preservation of metal
objects/artifacts, especially Chinese bronzes from the Shang and
Zhou dynasties

Position Description:

    Maintenance and conservation of metal cultural relics and
    research on conservation sciences

    Monitoring and control of various cultural relic conservation
    environments as well as observation and recording of cultural
    relic conservation conditions

    Must operate equipment capable of producing ionizing radiation
    and must attain radiation equipment operation qualification
    within the first year in the position

    Supervision and maintenance of laboratories and related
    instruments and equipment

Qualifications Required for Application:

    A degree equivalent to a Master's degree or higher (persons in
    Post Doctoral programs are also acceptable) from a conservation
    science or materials science related department in Taiwan or
    abroad

    Experience with or ability to perform instrument analysis and
    operation

conservation science
