The Cincinnati Art Museum is seeking a paintings conservation fellow
for a one year (12 months) starting fall 2010.  The Conservation
Laboratory has been awarded a conservation grant from the Kress
Foundation for the conservation of selected paintings in the Spanish
Paintings Collection.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and be
fluent in both spoken and written English.

During the fellowship tenure, the fellow will survey and perform a
technical examination of Spanish paintings on canvas within the
museum's collection, leading to treatment of selected paintings and
frames. The tasks will be coordinated and supervised by the Chief
Conservator and by the Curator of European Paintings, Sculpture and
Drawings.  The internship is designed to further the career of a
recent conservation graduate from a recognized conservation graduate
program. The preferred candidate would posses strong organizational
skills, solid understanding of the field of conservation including
practical conservation techniques and current approaches both
ethical and philosophical.

The application deadline is May 21, 2010. Candidates chosen for a
telephone interview will have to submit additional information, such
as examples of treatments and scholastic research.

The internship will be paid bi-weekly with a total stipend of
approximately $25,000.00 and includes benefits that is subject to
all applicable taxes.
