The Eastern Analytical Symposium and Exposition (EAS) is the second
largest conference and exposition for laboratory science in the U.S.
dedicated to the needs of analytical chemists and those in the
allied scientific fields such as the conservation of art,
architecture and other cultural heritage. We offer high quality
cutting-edge technical sessions and state-of-the-art short courses,
workshops and seminars, including the Conservation Science Annual
(CSA), produced in cooperation with the New York Conservation
Foundation (NYCF). We encourage you to be a part of the 2010 EAS and
NYCF CSA program by late-submitting before May 1, 2010 (see below) a
contributed paper for consideration as an oral or poster
presentation. The 2010 submission deadline for contributing CSA
paper and poster abstracts via an EAS online system now closed, was
April 15. Speakers already confirmed for  2010 CSA invited sessions
will submit abstracts via an EAS online system later, when
requested.

The 2010 NYCF CSA at EAS comprises invited sessions of papers,
sessions of contributed papers, and contributed poster sessions, and
one two day short course:

Monday November 15, 2010, am and pm: two invited sessions on
synchrotron studies, chaired by Hannelore Roemich (NYU Institute of
Fine Art)  and Jennifer Maas (Winterthur Museum and University of
Delaware)

Tuesday November 16, 2010, am and pm: two invited sessions on modern
materials, chaired by Tom Learner (Getty Conservation Institute) and
Gwynne Ryan (Smithsonian Institution's Hirschorn Museum)

Wednesday November 17, 2010, am and pm: two sessions of contributed
papers on above and other conservation science topics, see below to
submit your abstract

Wednesday and Thursday, November 17-18, 2010, am and pm: one short
course on latest research and methods for cleaning plastic (art and
other heritage), led by Yvonne Shashoua and Kathrine Segal (Danish
National Museum and EU POPART)

Registration will open online at <URL:http://www.eas.org> during
summer 2010

Full registration fee at EAS covers CSA and all other EAS technical
programs except short courses:

    Before Oct. 15, 2010 - USD $140
    After Oct. 15, 2010 -USD $160
    Student before Nov. 18, 2010 -USD $20

The CSA two day short course at EAS requires payment of full EAS
registration, plus:

    Before Oct. 15, 2010 -USD $675
    After Oct. 15, 2010 -USD $975

Special notes including late submission of contributed abstracts:

    We thank all those persons  who have already submitted abstracts
    for contributed papers or posters.

    We strongly encourage poster abstract submissions from
    conservation students and other persons planning to attend the
    2010 NYCF Conservation Science Annual at EAS. Posters from
    persons not registering and attending will not be displayed.

    Before May 1, 2010: Any person now wishing to late-submit a
    contributed paper to be considered for the 2010 CSA contributed
    sessions, may send the contributed abstract via email *before* May
    1, 2010 only to: nyconsnfdn<-at->aol<.>com

    Before late-submitting your abstract, please carefully review
    the following information:

    All late-contributed abstracts for CSA must be submitted via
    email only to nyconsnfdn<-at->aol<.>com, *before* May 1, 2010.  No
    faxed or mailed late-contributed abstracts will be considered.
    No late-contributed abstracts submitted via any other avenue
    will be considered.

        All abstracts must be a maximum of 250 words or less.

        The title of the presentation and the list of authors that
        you submit are final, and may not be changed.

        The abstract that you submit will be considered to be your
        final abstract and if accepted will be printed in the
        abstract book distributed at for the 2010 Eastern Analytical
        Symposium.

        Please note that no one author may submit and present more
        than two posters.

        All abstracts will be acknowledged via e-mail.

Presenting authors of contributed abstracts will be notified in July
2010 of the status of the submission, and of the session assignment
if accepted.
