ICON Ethnography Group Workshop and One-Day Conference: Basketry Conservation Venue: Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, London Workshop: 15-18 September 2010 Symposium: 19 September 2010 Practical Workshop: The ICON Ethnography Group is running a 3-day practical workshop on the conservation of baskets and related material. The work shop will be led by Sherry Doyal and Barbara Wills in conjunction with the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew .This will prove to be a unique opportunity to carry out conservation treatments on baskets and basketry material as well as acquire expert skills and techniques from two extremely knowledgeable and experienced conservators. Speakers from national and international museums and institutions will cover relevant conservation treatment issues and solutions as well as the role of conservators in collaboration with indigenous communities..
