I had the same problem working in Micronesia.  My feeling is that
the lizards will not be eating your collection, they are preying on
insects in the building.  This can be a good thing.  However, their
faeces can cause staining so try to keep everything covered. Another
problem is if you are using sticky insect traps, the lizards can get
caught in there.  Their bodies can then become food for insects, so
any traps need to be inspected very regularly.  Sealing your
building well and keeping doors and windows closed as much as
possible will help prevent the lizards coming inside.
