Subject: Lizards in collection
Thatayaone Segaetsho <segaetshot [at] mopipi__ub__bw> writes >I have just discovered habitation of small lizards within my >collection. ... I am assuming that these are small lacertids or geckos. I cannot perceive how these lizards can be considered as a serious threat to collections as they would eat live prey items only. Their claws (lacertidae) however could do some surface damage, excrement is semi-dry but egg staining could be an issue. Try to find the entrance points where the lizards can gain access. There may be a small area of damaged masonry. Some species of lizard also like to hide behind curtains during daylight hours. Sticky traps or sticky band traps can be useful to contain them.
