The Special Collections department, University of Glasgow Library is
currently recruiting for a Project Conservator (12 months). Please

This is a significant opportunity to contribute to the work of the
Special Collections department, University of Glasgow Library, one
of the foremost resources in Scotland for academic research and
teaching. Following a successful application to the Wellcome Trust,
we wish to appoint a project conservator to undertake preservation
and conservation treatment of the Thomson Family Papers, an
important resource for the history of eighteenth and nineteenth
century medical education and practice. They comprise the papers of
the physician and surgeon John Thomson (1765-1846) and his sons, the
physician William Thomson (1802-55) and biological scientist Allen
Thomson (1809-84).The material also includes papers of the renowned
physician and chemist William Cullen (1710-1790).
