Subject: Symposium on current practices in fine art reproduction
Current Practices in Fine Art Reproduction Rochester Institute of Technology June 16-18, 2010 This symposium will present results of a 30-month project funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation that was undertaken to evaluate current practices in fine art image reproduction, determine the image quality generally achievable today, and establish a suggested framework for art image interchange. Results from multiple experiments will be among the inputs used to construct a conceptual framework of the various types of imaging taking place in cultural institutions at present. Results of the project to date will be presented along with related presentations from other experts. The symposium is designed for people involved in all aspects of art image reproduction in museums, libraries and archives. Symposium registration will be limited to 125 people.
