Internship Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbuettel The Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbuettel, Germany, is offering a 12-month internship preparing for a graduate conservation program. The probable starting date is 1 September 2010. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. A working knowledge of German is essential. Basic skills in book and paper conservation or an apprenticeship in bookbinding would be of advantage. The Herzog August Bibliothek gives training in practical conservation and documentation as well as provides an insight to the theoretical bases of preservation. Candidates are expected to have strong manual dexterity, be interested in the preservation of cultural heritage and especially library material, its history and aspects of natural science and demonstrate a sense of responsibility and commitment. The internship is currently paid 874,44 Euro per month.
