Frames Conservation Fellowship Tate Allowance: UKP22,000 pa The Fellowship will be an eight month placement within our Frames Conservation Section which is responsible for the technical investigation, conservation and restoration of works of art in the Tate> '> s Collection and in its care. This is a great opportunity for a conservator to develop and broaden their knowledge of collection care by working in a highly specialised team in a major art institution. The Fellow will have the opportunity to undertake a major treatment and research-based project on frames from the Collection. It will be in an area of specific interest, agreed with the Section at the start of the Fellowship and regularly reviewed. In addition there will be the potential to plan for involvement in a wide range of conservation activities and museum practice. If short listed for an interview, candidates will be required to prepare their project proposal which will form the main element of their Fellowship. Time and UKP800 have been allocated for study and travel to visit other workshops, galleries, attendance at relevant conferences and courses. You will hold a recognised qualification in frames conservation or equivalent training with proven post training experience and demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of ethics and reasoning behind treatment choices and conserving works to a high standard. You will have excellent communications skills both verbal and written and work well within a team environment.
