Internship scheme Regional Co-ordinator
Tender opportunity

The Institute of Conservation (Icon) is seeking an additional
consultant to carry out the work of monitoring, mentoring and
assessing conservation interns taking in part its successful
Heritage Lottery Fund-supported programme, now moving into its 5th
year. The contract will run from May 2010 to March 2012. This is a
key role in ensuring the success of the scheme, encouraging
cross-sector working between interns and hosts across the UK, in all
sectors.

Work includes building one-to-one relationships with interns and
supervisors: quarterly monitoring visits to interns and supervisors
across the UK, interviewing, assisting with training events,
providing an on-call service for supervisors and interns,
encouraging networking. Work is estimated at 1-2 days per fortnight
on average over the year, with some intensive periods of input for
interviewing, events and quarterly visits. The Co-ordinator should
be willing and prepared to travel at short notice; this position is
not tied to a particular region, but may cover a range of placements
right across the British Isles.

Tenderers should be experienced professionals familiar with the PACR
standards and with a track record in delivering training, mentoring
or assessment services. Experience in the conservation field is
desirable.
