The central role of this post is to undertake technical examination
of Old Master paintings, and samples from paintings, in the National
Gallery Collection, to provide interpreted data to curators and
conservators for the Gallery's programme of conservation and
cataloguing. The successful candidate must have experience in
microscopy and pigment/layer structure analysis for works of art,
and experience with paintings would be a particular advantage.
