Samuel H. Kress Advanced Fellowship Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) The Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC), located in Andover, Massachusetts, 25 miles north of Boston, is offering a one-year advanced fellowship in its book conservation laboratory. The position will be supported by a grant from the Samuel H. Kress Foundation. The fellowship offers an opportunity to spend a concentrated amount of time at the bench in a spacious laboratory with highly skilled and friendly colleagues. The successful candidate will treat a variety of bound materials including printed volumes, bound manuscripts and atlases. The intern may also participate in outreach activities such as workshops and surveys. The position begins in July 2010. In addition to bench skills, good written and oral communication skills are important. Applicants must have successfully completed a degree from a graduate level conservation training program or have comparable training and experience. Applicants who are not U.S. citizens are eligible but must have a valid J1 student visa. Compensation will include funding for travel and research to supplement the training at NEDCC.
