Fine Arts Expert Institute FAEI

A new commercial laboratory for the technological study and
authentication of paintings in Geneva, Switzerland, is looking to
appoint a Junior research scientist (permanent position, 50% part
time in the first instance).

Candidates should have the following profile :

    Postgraduate degree in chemistry or a related subject and some
    experience in the technological investigation of works of art A
    conservator with significant experience in the scientific
    investigation of paintings (X-radiography, infrared
    reflectography, X-ray fluorescence, optical microscopy for
    pigment identification) would also be considered.

    Languages: good English and at least some French are essential,
    other languages would be an advantage

    Ability to work autonomously, reporting to one of two senior
    scientists at the laboratory

    Preparedness to use X-rays as part of your work
