Call for Papers and Posters
ICOM-CC Paintings Working Group
16th Triennial ICOM-CC Conference
Lisbon
September 19-23, 2011

ICOM-CC is now inviting paper and poster contributions for its 16th
Triennial Conference. This two-step process consists of a call for
abstracts of prospective papers and posters, followed by an
invitation to submit full papers and poster abstracts for
publication.

For the schedule and instructions please refer to the various
Preprints documents on ICOM-CC's dedicated conference website

The interests of the Paintings Working Group encompass all areas of
research that may contribute to the understanding of the materiality
and making of paintings and which facilitates their conservation and
presentation.

Here, paintings are defined as moveable, largely two-dimensional
images created for the primary purpose of providing a visual
experience; such objects have been produced world-wide, since at
least antique times to the present. Paintings may be executed on any
type of support, including but not limited to: wood, textile, metal,
stone, glass and plastic. While the Paintings Working Group is open
to submissions of papers on various topics, we would like to
specifically invite colleagues to submit papers related to
conservation treatment practice as this is a subject area less
represented in conferences in the last decade. The first deadline to
note is April 16, 2010, which is the deadline for authors to post
abstracts of papers and posters on the editorial website.

The full preprint schedule is found in the recent On Board
publication of ICOM-CC. See:
