Temporary Position (6 months)
Whitney Museum of American Art

The Whitney Museum seeks temporary project conservator for our
Collections Documentation Initiative.  The project conservator will
assist in an ongoing object-by-object survey of the prints and
drawings collection, including condition assessment and media
identification. Other responsibilities:  Work with cataloguer to
ensure that object-specific information is accurate and art handlers
to determine housing needs for fragile works.  Enter data into The
Museum System (TMS), including written documentation.

Requirements:  M.A. in Art Conservation with a specialization in
works on paper; knowledge of current standards of practice and
methodology for the examination of works of art on paper; knowledge
and interest in 20th and 21st Century artists' material and
techniques; TMS.
