Paper Conservator Temporary Position (6 months) Whitney Museum of American Art The Whitney Museum seeks temporary project conservator for our Collections Documentation Initiative. The project conservator will assist in an ongoing object-by-object survey of the prints and drawings collection, including condition assessment and media identification. Other responsibilities: Work with cataloguer to ensure that object-specific information is accurate and art handlers to determine housing needs for fragile works. Enter data into The Museum System (TMS), including written documentation. Requirements: M.A. in Art Conservation with a specialization in works on paper; knowledge of current standards of practice and methodology for the examination of works of art on paper; knowledge and interest in 20th and 21st Century artists' material and techniques; TMS.
