Survey on washing textiles

As many of you may have heard the University of Amsterdam has
started a new conservation course, this programme includes a textile
specialisation. We are the second group of students to start this
course. During a lesson on the washing of historical textiles we
turned out to be left with more questions than answers. We therefore
decided to ask the conservation community at large to give some
opinions on washing issues. We are interested to know how our peers
deal with these issues. We are aware that all of the questions in
our survey will be different for specific fibres, weaves and degrees
of degradation however we tried to keep the questions as general as
possible. Due to the limited questions that survey monkey allows us
to have we had to split this survey into two parts please complete
both if you can spare the time. We have tried to put the most
important questions in the first survey so if your time is indeed
limited prioritise on the first one. Thanks in advance.
