Subject: Internship opportunities sought
The Program in Maritime Studies at East Carolina University is currently looking for organizations that would be interested in hosting an internship for students undertaking their master's degree in maritime archaeology with a focus on conservation. Currently, students undertake an introduction to archaeology and museum conservation course, an advanced conservation course, an internship, and conduct part of their thesis research on a conservation related topic. The program is designed to produce archaeologists that are aware of the preservation issues faced on archaeological sites and in museum environments. Students from other disciplines such as Anthropology and Public History are also involved in the courses and can be placed for internships. Students are available to participate in one month, two month, or three month internships. If your organization is available to host a conservation student, reply to Susanne Grieve at grieves<-at->ecu<.>edu.
