Subject: Workshop on Modular Cleaning Program
The Southeast Regional Conservation Association (SERCA) is proud to host the workshop, The Modular Cleaning Program, developed and taught by Chris Stavroudis. The Modular Cleaning Program is a systematic approach to cleaning works of art utilizing solvents, solvent gels and water-borne systems. The workshop will provide conservators with a series of concentrated stock solutions and a computer database. The database assists the conservator in combining stock solution, specifying new cleaning solutions and mixing combinations. During the workshop participants will be introduced to cleaning theories and the use of the database. Participates will have the opportunity to apply what they have learned during lectures at lab time and leave the course with a set of stock solutions (travel arrangements permitting). The workshop will be held March 11-14, 2010 in West Palm Beach, FL. Workshop costs are $400.00 for AIC members and $450.00 for non-members. The workshop was made possible with financial support from the Foundation of the American Institute for Conservation.
